Around here we had a WONDERFUL Christmas. We were able to spend lots of time with family and also just relax and enjoy the weekend. That's what Eric and Silas are doing here. Silas LOVES Toy Story and will not pay attention to anything else if it's on. Silas has been sick all week so we've been letting him do this more often than I'd like. Eric decided to take a little nap while Silas watched the movie and every once in a while Silas would drive his truck on Eric's face. It was very cute. :)
Silas got this awesome truck from Santa this year. We didn't want to wrap it so it was just sitting under the tree when Silas went into the living room. He jumped right on it and took off around the kitchen and refused to get off it even to open his other gifts. And these are his cute new PJs from Grammy and Papa.
And this was the big gift of the day! Eric got me a PIANO!! I had no idea and he was very sneaky and got it into it's place Christmas morning without me hearing him at all. I have the most wonderful husband! I was so excited. Now all I have to do is remember how to play. I'm practicing everyday and it's slowly coming back to me. Very slowly.

Two Boys
Eric likes to lay on his back and throw the football and Silas likes to do whatever Eric is doing.
So the biggest news since I last blogged is that we're having another stinky boy and we're so excited about it. When we were talking about what gender kids we want and how far apart we wanted them we both agreed we wanted two boys close together in age. So now just as long as the next kid is a girl I'll be happy. :)
We also recently made Silas this awesome PVC pipe chair which has turned out to be a bit dangerous. It's light enough that he can drag it where he wants and he likes to climb all over it. He currently has a black eye from getting a little too wild and hitting his face on the entertainment center.
Silas got to go swimming at our friends apartment pool a couple of weeks ago. He looks like such a big boy in his swim suit. He's gone to nursery with me the last two weeks and it makes me sad he's getting bigger. I'm going to be the mom that cries on her kids first day of school. The first week in nursery was really sad, kids kept taking Silas's toys and he'd just get really sad and come sit on my lap and watch the bully play with his toy. Broke my heart! But this week he did a little better. When a kid would take his toy he'd yell/grunt at them then find a new toy. So maybe next week he'll learn to hold on to the toy or to take it back. Eric's been helping him work on it.
The pictures uploaded backwards. This was supposed to be at the top with our exciting news about the boy. We had Eric's grandma Marla and sister Carrie make this cake with either blue or pink frosting inside so we'd cut it and find out what we were having. It was way more fun than just finding out in the doctors office and we got to have the family find out at the same time. Side note: the frosting color on the outside of the cake is so ugly because I was worried about the yellow frosting I originally wanted not being able to hid the blue or pink so I just mixed all the colors together just to be safe. :)

Pumpkin Patch
We made a trip to the pumpkin patch in Kingston this year. Silas had lots of fun walking around that patch sitting on the little pumpkins or kicking them. The pumpkin patch was a farm that had animals that Silas enjoyed yelling at.
It also had a flower garden that you could pay to pick a giant bunch of flowers. We had lots of fun wandering around the farm.Tuesday, October 11, 2011
Silly Silas
We really haven't had too much going on with us. I'm realizing what boring people we are. Silas is getting SO big. We think he just had a growth spurt because all he wanted to do was sleep and eat. and it now seems like he is about a foot taller than he was a week ago. Our couter tops are no longer safe. If somethings on the table unless it's in the very middle he'll get to it. And we have to keep everything pushed way back on the counter tops. He's also starting to be able to reach the door handles. He hasn't yet figured out how to open them on his own but he'll get there real quick I'm sure.
So we watched General Conference a couple of weeks ago. I love Conference weekend and so does Eric but sadly it was one of those rare weekends when Eric had to work on Saturday so it was just Silas and I for the Saturday sessions. The kid is already acting like a teenager. This is a picture of him watching conference. :)
And here's just a picture of Silas doing one of his favorite things, walking around in Eric's shoes. Drives Eric crazy because his shoes are never together because Silas only walks around in one at a time.So we watched General Conference a couple of weeks ago. For about a week everytime I went to pick Silas up from a nap or in the morning this is how he'd be waiting for me in his crib. He cracks me up. :)

It's been awhile!
Right now we're a bit stressed. We've been trying what carrer path Eric's going to take now. We looked into him being a lineman but I got scared off when they talked about how much he'd be away for the first three years and how much money it would be for lineman school and a truck and trailer and other such things. So now we're doing a lot of praying and looking for some guidance as to where to look next. Be praying for us!
So not sure if I'll actually do it but I'm going to do my best to keep the blog updated. :)

Silas and Eric had their first of many games of catch today. We've been keeping very busy around here with my family visiting then a trip back to Idaho. But we're getting back into our normal routine so I'll hopefully be better about blogging.

So I haven't been keeping up with the old blog. I'll try to catch up. My family's in town so we took a little drive up to Forks and La Push. Forks was a let down. :( I'm not sure what I was expected but there wasn't much to see. La Push was very fun. We went to first beach and the babies got all sandy and dirty.

So I've had a wonderful Mother's Day. Eric made me yummy pancakes for breakfast and Silas (Eric) got me these canisters. I've wanted some for awhile. Eric wasn't sure what to put in the smallest one and was going to fill it with chocolate but I'm trying to figure out what Silas is allergic to so I'm off chocolate for a bit. After church all three of us took naps and when Silas finally woke up Eric got up with him and let me sleep another TWO hours. So nice! Then tonight Eric made an amazing dinner of salmon and grilled steak. It was very impressive and everything was perfect.

My second attempt at an update
A few weeks ago i had a empty diaper box in the living room and Silas crawled to it and pulled himself up and started using it as a walker. He loves it. He makes this face the whole time he's walking around.
I went to the store without the boys the other day and brought them home some bubbles to play with. Silas wasn't really sure about them. He tried to grab a few but mostly just looked a little unsure.
During conference this weekend Eric got some cuddles.
Silas is now up to 5 teeth. He loves having his teeth brushed. I made the mistake of leaving his toothbrush and toothpaste on a low table and Silas put the tooth brush on his little thumb and was brushing his teeth. He thought he was pretty funny.
So we finally got a day of sun shine about a week ago and Eric had the day off so we were able to go out and enjoy it. We tried to get some good pictures of Silas but he wasn't really in the mood. Here he's doing his trick where he stands on Eric's hand. Sadly he wont be doing this for much longer, he starting to notice how high he is and bends his legs.
I went to the store while Eric watched Silas so I brought them home a treat, BUBBLES! Silas wasn't too sure about them. We'll try again when we can play outside.
This was my second attempt at putting these pictures on. I hope it works this time!

9 months!!!
Silas is 9 months old! Such a big kid! I'm having to pack up all his 9 month clothes though and we're getting out all the 12 month clothes.
This week has been full of fun. Tuesday night we got to go see the Galaxy play the Sounders. That means we saw Beckham! It actually wasn't that cool. He was so little it took us the first twenty minutes to figure out which one he was. But other than Beckham being so small and the terrible weather, it was a really fun game. It was also the first time Eric and I had left Silas for such a long time. He had lots of fun with his Grandma and I was able to enjoy most of the game.
And here's the video of Silas's first day of crawling. He had terrible form and it took so much effort to get anywhere. He now still has pretty bad form but he's moving faster and doesn't grunt and cry the whole time.
Sorry the video wouldn't load.

Tooth number 3
This week one of Silas's top teeth finally broke through! It's very exciting and his other one doesn't seem to be too far behind. He's also starting to crawl finally. It's pretty funny to watch. He's all over the place and he grunts and complains the whole time he crawls. We have video of it but i'm having a hard enough time typing. The boy is demanding to sit on my lap and he's just going back and forth between trying to type and chew on my fingers. I'll work on getting a picture of the new tooth and the video of crawling.

Silas's teeth!
Here's a picture of Silas's first tooth. His second one came up on Sunday but I just tried taking a picture of them and failed.
He's still not crawling. He gets everywhere rolling so we've been trying to help him crawl but he's just a bit of a lazy boy.

Silas has a tooth!
Last night in the car Silas was fussing so I let him chew on my knuckles and he bit down and something sharp went into my finger. it scared me because i thought he had something small and sharp in his mouth. But then i realized it was just his tiny little tooth. I tried to take a picture of it but he wouldn't let me. But it's there and it is sharp! other things that are going on is I learned how to make Creme Brulee. I'm still learning how to make it look pretty but it tastes good.
I got bored one day and made a decoration for the kitchen "eat" it's not my favorite but at least there's something on the wall.

Silas's New Room
Silas is now in his new room. The fun part of the room is the full length mirror. Silas sit's in his bumbo and plays with the chubby kid in the mirror while I do laundry and stuff around his room.

Basketball Soap
So I've really been wanting to be a crafty person so I love looking at people's craft blogs and copying what they do. I got the idea to make plastic soap dispensers cute from Brown Paper Packages. Silas has a sink in his new room so I wanted a cute soap dispenser that matched the sports theme. So here's my basketball soap dipenser. I'm very proud. :)

Teething!!!!
We finally got family pictures taken! Silas was so good it was amazing.
This is the first picture of the entire family that wasn't taken by self-timer. I think they turned out great. I went a little crazy bossing people around. I was compared to Clair from Modern Family but I love her so I'm okay with it.

What a crazy couple of weeks we've had! A ton to blog about! I'll do my best to keep it short but I'm really not good at that. :) Christmas was very fun. Crazy but fun. Right after Christmas we packed up and moved back to Washington. My parents were wonderful and brought out a truck load of all our stuff so we have all our stuff out here. They were able to be here for Eric's birthday on the 2nd but then had to get back for work on Monday. Which was probably a good thing because as soon as they left the flu started making its way through the house. It started with Silas on Sunday afternoon he started throwing up. That continued all of Monday then that night I was up all night throwing up. I'm pretty sure I broke my record of 8 times that I set when I was prego but i was so tired and sick I lost count. Then Tuesday morning Eric started. And then Mark started Tuesday night. It was BAD! But we all got over it and everyone's fine. We had a few days of everyone feeling good and Silas got back to his normal sleeping schedule. And then the teething started! Two nights ago Silas refused to stay asleep and Eric needed to sleep because he was going to be working for the moving company the next morning so Silas and I spent the night on the couch. It was not fun. The poor kid would sleep for about an hour then wake up crying. I couldn't figure out what was going on. Then last night he was so fussy and wouldn't go to bed so I gave him a couple of teething tablets too see if that would help anything and it allowed him to sleep for a few hours. So I'm not positive but all signs point to teething. poor kid. :(
But with all that going on some positive things are I've discovered Ikea! I've gone twice since we've been out here. It's AWESOME! Target and Costco now have some major competition for favorite store. Also Silas discovered that he can roll around. I was changing his diaper last night and he rolled across the room and thought it was so funny. It was adorable.
We're still waiting on hearing about Eric's job. It's looking really really good. So everyone be praying that things work out!
