Trip to Washington

Eric changing Silas's bum at a rest stop

So we made it to Washington. It wasn't nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be Silas was really good the whole first half. the second half he woke up then cried himself to sleep then repeated. Friday night (the night before we left) Silas and i were up most of the night because he had a stuffed up nose and possibly a cold. I ended up sleeping on his bedroom floor with him. Then Saturday night after arriving in Washington we had the worst night! Silas wouldn't stop crying. Even when he was eating he wouldn't stop screaming. in the morning the screaming continued until we were able to get infants ibuprofen and Little Noses into him and he fell asleep and we took a nice long family nap. So Sunday he was pretty grumpy the whole day and now today he's doing SO much better. He's calmed down and is just a little grumpy. Eric is at his first day back at work. He came home for lunch and his morning was not going well. He spent the morning putting papers in burn bags. Hopefully he comes home and had a better afternoon!

5 weeks...almost

Sunday night I decided i wanted some pictures of Silas to put up in his room so i did a little photo shoot of him with a sports theme. I'm going to try it again because he really wasn't doing what i wanted. All he wanted to do was look out the window so that's why he's looking to the right in a lot of them.

This one's blurry but this was just my first attempt. I'll get a better one.

So today we took Silas to the doctor so he could get a quick check up before we go to Washington where we don't have insurance. Everything is great! He's a very healthy happy baby. He LOVES Eric and is always smiling and talking to him. We got his weight and height and such and we have a GIANT little boy. He is 11 lbs 10 oz which puts him in the 88th percentile, he's 23 1/4 inches which puts him in the 93rd percentile, and his head is 15.5 inches around and that's the 71st percentile. So he's a big kid all around. The doctor also told us he thinks Silas's eyes are going to stay blue so Eric is thrilled.
Right now Eric is getting ready to take his last three finals and then he's done with the summer semester. He's been doing really well this semester which is very impressive considering he's had a huge distraction with Silas.

Rigby Lake with the family

With the weather warming up we were able to go to Rigby Lake with Michelle and Karri and their kids.
This is Silas's new swim suit. It took me forever to find one that was small enough for him.

The last 3 and a half weeks in pictures

So with Silas being the needy kid he is we haven't really been able to put him down for a second. so i haven't been keeping up with posting on our blog so here are some pictures of what's been going on with us.
Silas met his best friend Deakon.
This is one of the many faces Silas makes that crack us up.

We discovered that he really likes being held like a football. He pretty much just turns to mush.

Eric's been playing on a softball team this semester and last week they won the tournament!
Silas loves trying to suck on whatever comes near his mouth. This includes Eric's nose. :)

This is how we've been spending the last three weeks. Well we do this and then Silas eats and then we nap and then a couple hours later he eats again and then we nap some more.

This is how Silas enjoyed the parade on the Fourth.
