Wonderful Christmas Time!
Around here we had a WONDERFUL Christmas. We were able to spend lots of time with family and also just relax and enjoy the weekend. That's what Eric and Silas are doing here. Silas LOVES Toy Story and will not pay attention to anything else if it's on. Silas has been sick all week so we've been letting him do this more often than I'd like. Eric decided to take a little nap while Silas watched the movie and every once in a while Silas would drive his truck on Eric's face. It was very cute. :)
Silas got this awesome truck from Santa this year. We didn't want to wrap it so it was just sitting under the tree when Silas went into the living room. He jumped right on it and took off around the kitchen and refused to get off it even to open his other gifts. And these are his cute new PJs from Grammy and Papa.
And this was the big gift of the day! Eric got me a PIANO!! I had no idea and he was very sneaky and got it into it's place Christmas morning without me hearing him at all. I have the most wonderful husband! I was so excited. Now all I have to do is remember how to play. I'm practicing everyday and it's slowly coming back to me. Very slowly.

Two Boys
Eric likes to lay on his back and throw the football and Silas likes to do whatever Eric is doing.
So the biggest news since I last blogged is that we're having another stinky boy and we're so excited about it. When we were talking about what gender kids we want and how far apart we wanted them we both agreed we wanted two boys close together in age. So now just as long as the next kid is a girl I'll be happy. :)
We also recently made Silas this awesome PVC pipe chair which has turned out to be a bit dangerous. It's light enough that he can drag it where he wants and he likes to climb all over it. He currently has a black eye from getting a little too wild and hitting his face on the entertainment center.
Silas got to go swimming at our friends apartment pool a couple of weeks ago. He looks like such a big boy in his swim suit. He's gone to nursery with me the last two weeks and it makes me sad he's getting bigger. I'm going to be the mom that cries on her kids first day of school. The first week in nursery was really sad, kids kept taking Silas's toys and he'd just get really sad and come sit on my lap and watch the bully play with his toy. Broke my heart! But this week he did a little better. When a kid would take his toy he'd yell/grunt at them then find a new toy. So maybe next week he'll learn to hold on to the toy or to take it back. Eric's been helping him work on it.
The pictures uploaded backwards. This was supposed to be at the top with our exciting news about the boy. We had Eric's grandma Marla and sister Carrie make this cake with either blue or pink frosting inside so we'd cut it and find out what we were having. It was way more fun than just finding out in the doctors office and we got to have the family find out at the same time. Side note: the frosting color on the outside of the cake is so ugly because I was worried about the yellow frosting I originally wanted not being able to hid the blue or pink so I just mixed all the colors together just to be safe. :)

Pumpkin Patch
We made a trip to the pumpkin patch in Kingston this year. Silas had lots of fun walking around that patch sitting on the little pumpkins or kicking them. The pumpkin patch was a farm that had animals that Silas enjoyed yelling at.
It also had a flower garden that you could pay to pick a giant bunch of flowers. We had lots of fun wandering around the farm.Tuesday, October 11, 2011
Silly Silas
We really haven't had too much going on with us. I'm realizing what boring people we are. Silas is getting SO big. We think he just had a growth spurt because all he wanted to do was sleep and eat. and it now seems like he is about a foot taller than he was a week ago. Our couter tops are no longer safe. If somethings on the table unless it's in the very middle he'll get to it. And we have to keep everything pushed way back on the counter tops. He's also starting to be able to reach the door handles. He hasn't yet figured out how to open them on his own but he'll get there real quick I'm sure.
So we watched General Conference a couple of weeks ago. I love Conference weekend and so does Eric but sadly it was one of those rare weekends when Eric had to work on Saturday so it was just Silas and I for the Saturday sessions. The kid is already acting like a teenager. This is a picture of him watching conference. :)
And here's just a picture of Silas doing one of his favorite things, walking around in Eric's shoes. Drives Eric crazy because his shoes are never together because Silas only walks around in one at a time.So we watched General Conference a couple of weeks ago. For about a week everytime I went to pick Silas up from a nap or in the morning this is how he'd be waiting for me in his crib. He cracks me up. :)

It's been awhile!
Right now we're a bit stressed. We've been trying what carrer path Eric's going to take now. We looked into him being a lineman but I got scared off when they talked about how much he'd be away for the first three years and how much money it would be for lineman school and a truck and trailer and other such things. So now we're doing a lot of praying and looking for some guidance as to where to look next. Be praying for us!
So not sure if I'll actually do it but I'm going to do my best to keep the blog updated. :)

Silas and Eric had their first of many games of catch today. We've been keeping very busy around here with my family visiting then a trip back to Idaho. But we're getting back into our normal routine so I'll hopefully be better about blogging.
